We know it is intimidating to come to a new place for the first time, so we work hard to make your visit a positive experience. There are always plenty of volunteers to help you find your way when you get here. There is also always hot, quality coffee and donuts available in The Gathering Place.
Is childcare provided? 8 Weeks-PreK/4 kids are part of an intentional childcare experience. Here they will learn Bible stories, participate in craft projects, learn the Lord’s Prayer and even memorize some scripture in a safe, fun, age-appropriate environment. Kinder to 5th-grade children are part of the worship service up until the weekly “Children’s Moment. ” Afterwards the kids break into small groups for an age-appropriate lesson during the message and then are brought back into the service for weekly communion. Adults are always welcome to keep children with them during the entire service. A comfort room is located in the sanctuary for any parent that needs a separate, quiet space during worship.
What's the service like? Worship begins with a welcome and singing, followed by a children's moment for elementary age kids. After those kids leave for their own age-appropriate small groups, we have a message that is practical, thought-provoking, and always Biblically based. After the message we have weekly communion, at which point the kids are welcomed back into the service to receive communion with their families. We finish communion with the Lord's Prayer, sing one more song, and are sent out as light into the world. Services are about 70 minutes in length.
What's the music like? Music at Redeemer is a modern blend of old and new. We sing modern worship songs that you would hear on the radio, we also sing some hymns, although not out of a hymnal. While we take our music very seriously what we are most serious about is that our music would lead us to worship the God who loves us and gathers us.
What should I wear? No expectations here. You can come in your Sunday's best or jeans. People do both. No matter what you are wearing, we are going to love you!
